What this job is about

Break out the Band-Aids: As a meat trimmer, your tools of the trade aren't exactly marshmallows. Instead, you'll use knives and cleavers to slice, dice and trim up meat to get it ready for sale. Yeah, steak doesn't just fall off the cow that way. You'll need to be good with your hands and definitely into safety, since you'll be working with a butcher to fulfill special orders and keep store shelves stocked with everything from beef and pork to lobster. It's the ideal job for someone who likes working with his or her hands and seriously values a predictable schedule.
