Get ready for a description of awesomeness: As the primary combat fighters for the Army, infantry soldiers need to know how to perform unarmed combat as well as become trained in special weapons so they're ready to protect themselves and others.Whether it's fighting in a frozen tundra or protecting families at home, infantry soldiers are specially trained to be the Army's first line of contact and defense against potential enemies. Infantry soldiers are prepped and ready to work with other units, including airborne weapons and special units, working together to protect, monitor and patrol, which means you'll need to be able to take orders and have excellent critical thinking skills, along with a hefty dose of physical strength and endurance.
